Certification Process

Certification typically takes 4–5 weeks. Once you confirm you’d like to certify, we’ll gather initial asset details and issue an invoice. From there, you’ll move through the key stages:

Information Gathering

You’ll receive a questionnaire to provide detailed project information and supporting documentation, such as building specifications, floor plans, and, if available, photographs.

Preliminary Assessment

Once you submit your materials, our team will review them and deliver a Preliminary Assessment report. This includes your initial rating, any requests for missing information, and suggestions to improve your score.

Revisions & Resubmission

You’ll then have the opportunity to make improvements based on our feedback and submit updated evidence.

Formal Assessment

After reviewing your final submission, we’ll issue a Formal Assessment that includes your certificate, final report, and opportunities to help you market and celebrate your achievement.

Have you recently certified a property? Be sure to consult our 5-step guide to making the most of the achievement.

Continuous Improvement

We recognise that sustainable transport is not just about the present, but the future. Our framework allows property owners to actively improve year-on-year, meeting evolving global standards.

ModeScore Platinum

Streamlining Certification With Aligned Standards

ModeScore aligns with and complements leading international green building standards, including BREEAM, WELL and GRESB.

Achieving ModeScore Gold or Platinum can support documentation for transport-related credits where relevant BREEAM criteria are targeted. Find out more here and here.

Achieving ActiveScore Gold (as part of ModeScore) can support evidence for the WELL Movement concept, awarding full credit where cycling and end-of-trip facilities are provided. Find out more here.

ModeScore can be used in GRESB submissions, and when combined with ActiveScore, can achieve 60% certified floor area coverage for an asset in GRESB, which is equivalent to a Partial+ outcome.

None of ModeScore’s criteria are mandatory, meaning any asset, regardless of age, type, or location, can participate in GRESB.
